Hi!  This post is for anyone coming in from my various posts around Dreamwidth asking for mods and deckmakers! (:

Go ahead and give me a comment down below with what you might be interested in!  Whether you'd like to be a general mod, solely a deckmaker, whether you have lots of time or very little time, etc.!  Also any questions, too! ♥

POST TITLE FORMAT:  Turn Order

TAGS: !turn order

DUTIES:
  • update the turn order as players spend vouchers
  • update the turn order each month to remove the reps and final boss used that month

DETAILS:

The Turn Order can be posted once at beginning of quarter by the mod who claims it and that same post can be updated thereafter.

Once a month, sometime after the Mission Board and Final Boss go up, Turn Order mod updates the Turn Order to remove any reps used in the Mission Board as well as the Final Boss that was used.

The Turn Order also updates whenever a player spends a class rep voucher or a Final Boss voucher.

Updating the template is fairly straightforward—each column is labeled with the class name, so you should be able to CTRL-F to find the appropriate column and fill in the information.  The word OPEN of course designates that that slot is open to be filled by a voucher, and when filling out that slot you'll replace the word OPEN with the character's full name.

POST TITLE FORMAT:  Final Boss XX

DUTIES:
  • make the final boss icon
  • post the Final Boss in first week of month
  • post the mid-month reminder
  • verify players are removing cards from their inventory
  • deliver all rewards

DETAILS:

The Final Boss needs to go up within the first week of the month,
to give players as much time as possible to make their attacks.

When posting the Final Boss, you will update/change the following:
  • the character's full name.  You will take this from the Turn Order if applicable.  If there is no Final Boss queued in the Turn Order, you get to pick!
  • the character's portrait.  It is a simple 250x250 square.  If the summoning player provided a desired picture, it will be with their Turn Order listing.
  • the game the character is from
  • the HP (this will probably change often as it should scale to player count)
  • shields or armor (at your discretion), as well as whatever bonus players get for attacking the shields/armor
  • the player who summoned the boss
  • the MIN ATTACK, which is the minimum number of cards a player must play to attack the boss (this value usually stays fairly stable)
  • the MAX ATTACK, which is the maximum number of cards a player can attack with (should scale with HP/number of players)

The goal of changing HP (and the MAX ATTACK) is to ensure defeating the Final Boss is slightly challenging, while still providing enough HP for a fair number of players to get the maximum attack in.

The boss HP needs to be updated promptly so players know how much HP is left, so running the Final Boss does require a bit of attention, at least early in the month.  Activity will probably taper off as the month goes on.

When a player attacks the boss, edit the HP to show the new value.  1 card = 1 HP.

Once the boss's HP has been brought to zero, you can begin handing out rewards.

REWARD DETAILS:

Here are the different kinds of treasure chest players can earn:
  • Attacking the Boss after HP has been brought to zero AND without hitting the maximum attack earns a Wooden Treasure Chest.

  • Attacking either before HP has been brought to zero OR attacking with the maximum attack earns a Copper Treasure Chest.

  • Attacking both before HP has been brought to zero AND with the maximum attack earns a Silver Treasure Chest.

  • Earning a Silver Treasure Chest AND playing a Treasure Chest Upgrade voucher earns a Gold Treasure Chest.

POST TITLE FORMAT: Player Support

DUTIES:
  • change player activity status on the website as needed
  • answer player questions
  • report player icon changes to Website Updates
  • report new level sets to Website Updates

DETAILS:

At the top of the Player Support Post will be one top level comment for bugs and errors, and another top level comment for player questions. Player Support mod is responsible for answering any questions players ask in the latter.

Player Support also handles requests from Inactive players to be listed as Active again.
A returning player needs to still have their activity log and inventory intact to be eligible for reactivation.

To edit a player's active status, on the sidebar of the staff portal, you'll choose Dashboard >> People >> Members. From there, go to the Inactive tab. Find the player you need to edit, and click the green gear button on the right side of their row. In the edit page you'll find a dropdown menu to change the player's status.

Players can also submit new level badge sets at Player Support, and can spend vouchers to change their website icon.
These things have to be change by a website admin, so you'll pass these updates along to Website Updates.

Try to keep up to date with Player Support at least once a week.

Important! I have found that editing in Rich Text Editor breaks the forms box that players need to copy their forms from.

To prevent this, ONLY edit in Casual HTML mode.

NAME FORMAT: Deck Spawn XX

DUTIES:
  • refer to the Deck Schedule and Claims Sheet for the month's releases
  • set up and post the month's Deck Spawn according to completed decks on claims sheet
  • delete completed decks from sheet
  • hand out bonus rewards for birthdays

DETAILS:

The Deck Spawn is our monthly new release post, and it should be posted within the first week of the new month.

The post above the cut contains the following:
  • Free Pulls, the basic amount of cards each player can take.  Is always ten.
  • Bonuses, which include the bonus for donated decks, and birthday rewards.
  • Spawn Camped, a special bonus each month, that you decide on!

The Spawn Camped bonus is a small bonus that changes each month.  It can be for a specific class, a specific color, cards beginning with a certain letter, etc.  It should provide no more than two cards as a bonus.

After the cut, the card releases are next.  Seasonal, Patch, and DLC come first, then all Base decks.  Base decks should be listed by canon in alphabetical order.

Finally, keep an eye out for birthday posts!  A player receives five random cards during their birthday month.  Deliver the cards in a direct reply the player's post.  Ensure all birthday bonuses are delivered within 2 weeks of post closure.

PREPARING THE DECK

Before we upload, let's make sure the deck is properly prepared!  Have a look at your deck and double check these things:
  • all card images are named properly, as deckfilename or deckfilenamefoil
  • mastery images are named properly, as deckfilename-master or deckfilenamefoil-master
  • the deck images feature a variety of sources (where possible), images that are too similar are not next to each other in the deck, and all images have been adjusted for sharpness and brightness

If everything looks good, you will next create a compressed folder of the deck.  Due to the necessity of the software, Foil decks are considered separate from their Standard decks, so if you are uploading a Standard deck and its Foil counterpart, you will need to make two separate compressed folders.

Ensure the accompanying mastery card is included in the compressed folder!

The compressed folder for the Standard deck should be named the same as the deck file name.  Same for Foil decks!

UPLOADING

To upload, you will log in to your account on the website, and click the admin link in the upper navigation menu!  This will take you to Stack, our admin interface!

In the sidebar, click on Dashboards, then Contents, then Cards.

Now here are the explanations of all these fields!

  • the deck name is the deck's name with things like spaces and capital letter.  It must be followed with the character's name, like so:  Central - John Bradford
  • the filename is the deck name with all spaces and capital letters removed.  The character's name is not present in this field
  • the deck maker is you!  Use the name you registered with on the website
  • the deck donator is the person who donated the deck.  Remember to use their player name, which is not necessarily their DW name on their donation post.  If you gathered the images for the deck yourself, the donator is you!
  • The big field is where we write the reason for the deck's name.  It should be a single complete sentence, and the name itself should be bold within that sentence.  Example:  "Mei's ultimate ability is called Blizzard."
  • Category is Base, DLC, Seasonal, or Patch.  Ignore the other options.
  • The Set/Series is the canon for Base and DLC, or for Patch and Season decks it is Multifandom.
  • Count and Break for Base and Patch Standard decks is 20 in the first field, 4 in the second field.  For DLC decks, the first number will be the number of cards in that deck for the first field, and 4 for the second field.  All Foil decks are 5 in the first field, 3 in the second.
  • Deck Type assigns the worth of the cards.  Choose regular for Base, Special for Patch, DLC, and Seasonal, and Rare for all Foils
  • Color is where we designate the deck's Class.  For DLC, Patch, and Season, write Multicharacter.
  • Puzzle should be No and Masterable should be Yes, but you will likely not have to change these.
  • And finally, when you are ready, click Browse to choose your compressed folder and hit Add Deck to finish up!

Here is a visual guide to what goes in each field.  It's the same info as above, just in image form.

FINALIZING

Almost done!  Follow these steps next to finish up:
  • Check the deck's page and give it a look over to double check everything uploaded correctly and that there are no mistakes.
  • DELIVER THE DONATION REWARDS TO THE DONATOR!  Their donation post is linked on the Deck Claims sheet, and their reward will be listed at the top of the Loading Screen post they commented on.
  • If you gathered the images yourself, you are free to use the randomizers to deliver your own deck donation pay
  • Mark the deck as !FINISHED in the Priority field on the Deck Claims sheet.

POST TITLE FORMAT:  Mission Board XX

DUTIES:
  • make the rep icons
  • post the Mission Board
  • post the mid-month reminder
  • verify completion of tasks
  • deliver all rewards
  • deliver all relevant cards to Mercenary's guild

DETAILS:

Make each of the character icons used in the MB each month.  They are simple rounded square icons with no overlays or designs.

Reference the Turn Order, maintained by the Summoner's Guild mod, for the class reps for each month.  Any reps that are still open become your choice.  Each rep gets a short blurb to introduce the missions.  These blurbs should be a couple sentences max.  They can be generic or reference specifics from the game/character if you are familiar with them.  Reference the example post if you need blurb examples.

The MB is posted within the first week of each month to ensure players have most of the month available for completing missions.  In the middle of the month, make a simple reminder post, pointing players to the current Mission Board.  This is helpful for players, but nonessential, so it is not considered a required deadline.

You are encouraged to begin handing our rewards as players mark them for completion to help reduce the large pile of rewards to hand out after the round closes.  Once the round closes, outstanding rewards should go out within 2 weeks.  Don't forget the Hero's Bounty for players who completed all missions!

Players have through the end of the month to post completed missions, so the round should close at midnight, US Pacific time, of the 1st of the next month.  Disqualify any posts made after this time, as well as any posts edited after this time.

Ensure that you are regularly validating the accuracy of completed missions where relevant and correcting players who have mistakenly claimed a mission completion.

And finally, remember to post all relevant cards to the Mercenary's Guild within two weeks of round closure.

The Mission Board is quite a bit larger than many templates, so here are a couple of images showing what you're looking for in there.

IMPORTANT!  This template MUST be edited in Casual HTML!  Switching to Rich Text Editor will break the formatting!

MISSION POSSIBILITIES:

Each class has their own potential missions!  Choose one for each, and ensure there is a balance between TCG-related missions and miscellaneous type missions.  Specific numbers for missions and rewards are suggestions—mods are encouraged to alter those numbers as they see fit.

While the classes do all have a few unique missions to try and give them all their own identity, if you ever need a quick solution for a mission, asking the player to turn in cards is always good for any class.

Further, if you think of a fun mission for a class, go ahead and implement it!  You're also totally free to implement variations on any of the missions.

Priest missions:
  • give gifts to 7 different players
  • play the game at FreeRice.com until you've earned 100 points
    • Notes: The proof screenshot should have the global stats shown to ensure players aren't reusing screenshots.
  • share a cute/beautiful/uplifting picture (or song, or video)

Mage missions:
  • share art tutorial videos
  • turn in cards that spell a word
  • turn in 7 cards of a certain number (i.e., turn in 7 cards that are all number 20 in their deck)

Scribe missions:
  • master a deck this month
  • share a nature/science video
  • obtain 20 cards of any kind this month

Engineer missions:
  • obtain 10 Engineer cards this month
  • turn in cards that add up to a certain number (i.e., if the number is 140, a player could turn in 7 number 20 cards, or 5 number 20s and 4 number 10s, or any other combination that equals 140)
  • share a recipe video

Bard missions:
  • share your current favorite song
  • tell us which video game fits (song provided by mod) and why
  • draw a doodle, write a short poem/limerick, or share any other wip or creative progress you have made this month

Warrior missions:
  • turn in 7 Warrior cards to be eliminated from the game
  • turn in 7 cards of any class to be eliminated from the game
  • attack the Final Boss this month

Paladin missions:
  • participate in Sidequests 7 times this month
  • turn in a full party (one of each class) to be eliminated from the game
  • turn in 7 Paladin cards

Hunter missions:
  • turn in 7 cards of a specified class
  • Scavenger hunt: provide players with 3-5 relatively easy things to find online
  • turn in 3 Base cards, 3 DLC cards, and 3 Patch cards

Rogue missions:
  • turn in 7 cards of a specified class to be eliminated from the game
  • turn in any 5 emblems
  • visit 4 guilds this month
  • spend 3 vouchers this month

Denizen missions:
  • trade with 7 different players this month
  • trade with 7 different players via their trade posts specifically
  • tell us what game you're currently playing and what you think of it
  • contribute a character to Patch Notes

REWARD POSSIBILITIES:

  • random cards
  • random cards of a specific class
  • random cards of a specific deck type
  • random new release cards
  • specific emblems
  • random emblems
  • a low level voucher (chosen by you or random)

CHAMPION'S BOUNTY:

This is the grand prize for players who have completed all missions for the month!  It should always consist of 2 silver-to-gold level vouchers, and the Foil Choice voucher should appear no more often than every other Mission Board.

tally: (Default)

MISSION BOARD

Welcome to the Mission Board! Every month, each of the ten classes will send their representative to provide players with a mission! Each mission comes with its own reward, but finish them all and you'll receive the Champion's Bounty—a grand prize featuring high-level rewards!

❥ Link to your card post and activity log at the top of your comment.
❥ Remember to link to all relevant completed tasks and/or post all relevant proof of task completion for verification.
❥ Format your comment in whatever way you like!

RULES
  1. Mods are required to follow all basic rules of the game, found here.
  2. Mods may not alter reward/limit amounts or types without admin approval. (I.e., if you think a Sidequest should be rewarding more cards, or the Mercenary's Guild limits need adjusting, please present your suggestion to an admin for approval first.)

QUARTERLY TIMELINE

  • A new quarter begins in December, March, June, and September.
  • Ahead of each new quarter, admins will post the Mod Job Claims.
  • Mods will claim their tasks, and be responsible for that task for the duration of the quarter.
  • Mod pay goes out once a month based on tasks completed.
  • At the end of the quarter, bonus mod pay goes out to mods who have met all their deadlines for the quarter

ACTIVITY EXPECTATIONS

As the game is meant to be fun for mods and admins as well, there will be no penalties for missing deadlines or the dropping of mod jobs, beyond of course the reassignment of the job to another mod if needed. You will not be pressured to fulfill jobs you do not have time/energy to do—we will either find a backup for you, or issue an apology to players for a missed event.

Instead of activity penalties, we will offer extra reward for mods who have completed all their tasks at the end of the quarter without missing any!

If you feel you cannot meet any specific deadlines, or if you need to hand off your entire job claim for the quarter, please do the following:
  • post to the mod community with the specific tasks and dates that needs coverage.
  • or, if you have already arranged for coverage via PM with someone, please also still post the change to the community so everyone on the team is aware of the alteration

This will be the procedure when a mod misses a deadline without notice:
  • after a single missed deadline, the mod will be given one week to either contact the team about their absence, or to post their task late
  • if, after one week, we have not heard from the absent mod, a backup mod will begin filling in
  • if, after a second week passes with no notice, admins will release the job claim to the team for new claiming
  • should the absent mod return, they will be welcome to fulfill backup and support mod tasks, however they will have lost their job claim for the quarter, as it will have been claimed by someone else at that point
Delivery of rewards to players in a timely fashion is considered part of the job claim.  You can find the complete list of deadlines, including the individual reward delivery requirements, on the full mod game schedule.

LATE TASKS

If you must be late in posting a task, we prefer that the schedule integrity take priority over making up missed events.

Example: You are modding Community Thursdays, but you miss your Thursday post. You are able to post on Saturday instead, however. Rather than change the posting date to Saturdays, the current round will simply be a little bit shorter, and the next post will go up on next Thursday as scheduled.

Another example: You are modding Community Thursdays, but are unable to post for many days. Rather than post extremely late and have a round that only lasts for a couple of days, go ahead and skip that round, and post the next round on schedule the next Thursday instead.
